Hello there! My name is Grace Ostiguy. As the owner and professional bookkeeper of Bookkeeping with Grace, I am the face you’ll soon get to know well!
When I was in high school, I studied Engineering Technology and I graduated top of my vocational class and 7th in the school. I loved math and numbers (I know, I’m a nerd) and I did well. But when it was time to go to college I realized I didn’t want to be an engineer- it just didn’t feel right. I studied Biology for two years (I love animals and Nature) and tutored mathematics and business students to pay for rent and groceries. But I was working too much to have time to be enrolled full time, and I lost my scholarship. I had no idea what I was going to do.
Then it hit me that I couldn’t pick a career that I was good at but didn’t love, or loved but didn’t excel in, so I studied bookkeeping and entrepreneurship to start my own virtual bookkeeping business! I love the field and I love being in a position to help other small businesses grow, and I love my job!
FUN FACTS ABOUT ME 🙂
- I have “grapheme color synesthesia” which I didn’t know had a name until recently!
- My “why” is my daughter, Amelia, the light of our lives.
- I love pineapples on pizza, but I eat the pineapples off first.
- I studied the martial art Tang Soo Do for eight years- if you’ve never tried martial arts, you should!
- My Myers-Briggs personality type is INFJ-T.
